Starshine & Clay: A Place For Women Of Color To Be

With Octavia Raheem - Retreat Leader, E-RYT, Tracee Stanley, April Taylor, Sound Therapist and Malesha Taylor, Vocalist

September 18 - 20, 2020

Our Fall 2020 Starshine & Clay Yoga Retreat For Women of Color is inspired by my childhood experiences going to Revival services in my hometown of Gainesville, Georgia and my direct experience of how the practices of yoga, yoga nidra, meditation, creativity, song, and sisterhood have {re}awakened my heart, spirit, and soul to the greater purpose of my life.

Our Fall 2020 Retreat is an opportunity to step away from our daily responsibilities and tending to everyone and everything else. It is a opportunity to revive and rise up singing our bodies, minds, and hearts.

Revival: {Merriam Webster definition) 1 : an act or instance of reviving : the state of being revived: such as (a) : renewed attention to or interest in something  (b ): a new presentation or publication of something old (c1) : a period of renewed religious interest (c2) : an often highly emotional evangelistic meeting or series of meetings 2 : restoration of force, validity, or effect (as to a contract)

Revival: {My lived experience} Inner Renewal, Reclamation, Rebirth and Rising, to bring back to fullest life. A place to gather in sacred community, connect to all that is divine with ourselves. To lay burdens down and rise up, freely. To touch the unbound place within. An awakening.

During our time together, we will:

-Remember how to revive our bodies and hearts through both movement and stillness
-Revive a greater sense of relationship to ourselves, commune with one another, and nature
-Revive our connection to inner power.
-{Re} awaken to the power of rest to transform our perspective and vision

This retreat is open to all levels and includes:

  • Active and restorative practices, creative movement, and meditations led by Octavia Raheem
  • Creative journaling, contemplation, and sacred dialogue to let go of limiting beliefs about our capacity to restore and revive ourselves
  • Yoga Nidra practice designed to allow us to access profound rest AND awakening to our empowered wisdom with Tracee Stanley
  • Restorative Yoga workshop with Dr. Gail Parker that provides both spiritual and practical ways to utilize rest as a tool for revival
  • Live gospel, folk, blues, and soul singing with Malesha Taylor
  • Ancestral healing Sound Meditation with April Taylor
  • Time to share healthy + decadent meals that communicate love to our bodies with each bite
  • So much more!

Practice profound self love as you connect with yourself and others in a safe and supportive community.
